Steven H Nipp Squadron 143 of the Sons of the American Legion, first chartered on 9/18/09, is happy to announce that they have re-established an active chapter.
Are you a son or grandson of a Veteran? If your relative served during the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the S.A.L. However, if the qualifying Veteran is deceased you may join the SAL, even if the qualifying Veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
....have just recently been changed. If your qualifying Veteran served at least one day of honorable service after Dec.7, 1941 in Active Duty, National Guard or Reserves, then you would be eligible to join the American Legion.
HERE IS THE LINK TO MILITARY RECORDS
S.A.L. members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. This organization exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires, and support The American Legion in promoting a wide variety of programs. SALs assist their Posts in other activities such as Veterans programs, Veterans Administration home and hospital volunteerism, Children and Youth projects, and fundraising. If you meet the requirements of membership, please come out to the next meeting. Annual dues for SAL membership are $15 - a bargain at any price!
